You are viewing the most recent 20 entries October 26th, 2008: We will soon be heading to Boo @ the Zoo! I'm excited! In the past week or so, they released two baby giraffes. And Jared is going to dress up like a giraffe for the Boo festivities. He is beyond excited about the babies. :) Tags: entertainment September 9th, 2008: Jared's first day of pre-K: with ALL 15 classmates! Jared had a great first day with all of his classmates. We went to pick him up yesterday afternoon, though, and he was in TEARS. Big boo hoo tears, sloppy dripping down his chin tears. *cries* Apparently he really really really wanted to ride the bus. His teacher said that was the ONLY meltdown he had ALL DAY LONG. Which is great for Jared, he has been going through a pretty frequent meltdown stage for the last couple of months. *sigh* We left from school and went to the cemetery for a walk. I think we've only missed one day since Thursday. I should really start charting my steps. Instead of walking this afternoon, we walked this morning for today. Today was 3700. My goal is to work up to 10000 steps within that 20-30 minute walk and work from there. I think the most steps I have got was like 4650 or something one day this weekend. It was just so incredibly muggy out this morning, I thought I was gonna wretch. We went to the library to get Jared some books. He has a "books read" list he brings home from school every day. He has books at home, but I figured some new ones to put in the mix. I meant to ask his teacher if she had a recommended book list, or could she get me the kindergarten one. *shrugs* As long as he's getting his book read to him, it'll be alright. :) OH I almost forgot this one. I like to look at the names on the stones while I'm walking around. If you take a right and walk around the first big curve, about 1/3 of the way down on the left there is a stone that reads STANKWYTCH. I about lost it. No offense to those who have passed that were beneath it, mind you. I just couldn't imagine having that as a last name. LOL I'm currently washing clothes and waiting for the termite inspector. So I'm getting off here and hope everyone has a great day! :) Current Mood:  complacentSeptember 7th, 2008: Grandparents' Day fun I asked Mama if she wanted to go to lunch today, and she said no. *sigh* So I made cube steak, gravy, mashed potatoes, and green beans for dinner. She came over and we printed off a picture and framed it for her.  That's the cutest picture he's taken in awhile. Jared did this click and color picture for Grandma and we printed it off. He wrote I LOVE YOU on the top and LOVE JARED below the picture. Grandma really liked it! :) We topped dinner off with BLACKBERRY COBBLER and vanilla ice cream. YUM YUM! HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY TO ALL YOU GRANDS OUT THERE! Current Mood:  curious: Clairol oops I know someone has had this oops besides me. I was trying to get my hair back to "light brown" instead of "funky red" from the salon a few weeks ago. Well, my roots and nice and golden brown and the rest of my hair is funky red/brown/weird. What to do?? *sigh* I am distraught. Current Mood:  crappySeptember 6th, 2008: It's 12:17am Ms. Clairol has 23 more minutes to do her magic. LOL Jared and I took a LONG NAP this early evening, so we're all still up. Randy had court this morning for the child support garbage. The judge says RANDY needs to find out if Betty (ex-wife) is working, whether Jennifer is still in the home, etc. How in the h3ll is he supposed to know or find out? Drama. Court date: October 7th. I wrote an email on Randy's behalf to DSS and Child Support Enforcement in Colorado. Maybe we'll hear something back before long. *sigh* We went to Bella Italy for late lunch/early dinner. Jared ate some "just noodles please" and I had spaghetti and meatballs. DELICIOUS! Randy had a sub of some sort and french fries. I had ONE french fry, cuz I'm a good girl. LOL They were hot greasy delicious. *sigh* I don't feel deprived if I have JUST ONE! :) I go back to the doctor next week. I think the Zoloft is doing wonders, as I've had a few issues this week that would normally cause me to go off. I handled them maturely and didn't blow up. YAY ME! :) Anyways, 19 more minutes until Ms. Clairol is done doing her thing. Then I'm going to bed for some hubby snuggles and sleep. Good night. :) Current Mood:  crazySeptember 5th, 2008: Jared's first day of pre-K: complete with picture goodness! We took Jared to pre-K yesterday morning. Wow he was so grumpy waking up. He had morning wood or whatever the polite terminology is for it. He was screaming Mommy my pee pee is too big and I can't push it down to pee!!!! OK I seriously had to go in the bedroom and quit dying laughing before I told him to just come on and eat breakfast/try later. I figured he would be oh so much more excited about going to school, thus less grumpy. That was SO not the case. After we offered him 3-5 different things for breakfast, he ended up eating some chunk cheese, 1/4 of a peanut butter sandwich, and a glass of milk. I couldn't pack his lunch (something about health regulations, etc.) so he had no choice but to eat at school. I figured he would NOT eat anything. The teacher said he ate a little. He was coated in ketchup so that means one thing - FRENCH FRIES. LOL I think a roll was on the menu yesterday, too, so he might have ate that. And drank some milk. Anyways, we went into his classroom and his teacher showed him where his cubby is and took him to wash his hands. He took straight off to where the other kids were coloring and we talked to the teacher for a few minutes. When we left were were all BYE JARED and he threw his hand up and said BYE. I'm glad he wasn't upset with us leaving, but it still stung just a little. LOL I didn't actually tear up until we got home. It wasn't that OMG anything bad was going to happen to my baby, it was the fact that he is MY BABY and he is growing up into a BIG BOY. *sigh* That's the way it goes, though, and as it should. He will be 50 years old and still be MY BABY though. :) We went to get him at the end of the day and his teacher said he had a terrific first day. He told us about the sandbox, reading a story, taking a nap, and coloring. When I got out of the van to put him in, he gave me a BIG HUG and a kiss. I asked him if he missed Mommy and Daddy and he said yes I did a LOT! That made me feel a little better that he didn't miss us that morning. ROFL We went to Grandma's so he could tell her about his day then came home. He slept from like 4:15-6:30pm last night. They must have wore him slap out! When he woke up, we had some dinner, walked at the cemetery, then went to McDonald's for a kid cone. Yesterday was a fantastic first day of pre-K!!! Pics under the cut. Apparently there were two different abnormalities with Randy's EKG, the nurse detected a murmur this morning, and his blood pressure was high (129/103). The surgeon is referring Randy to a cardiologist to do a complete heart work-up. The blood pressure, I know what's up with that. Randy POURS salt on everything he eats. We've been doing takeout a LOT, too. :( We have some dietary changes to make for sure. I just wish they would have figured all of this out before we were sitting in the hospital- MINUTES from him going into surgery. I'd rather them be safe than sorry, so now we wait. Jared is still just a little bit off, but he is acting like he's doing a lot better. He got sick at JW's Monday, but he's been fine ever since. I finally got some housework done today. Mama will be back home Monday morning from visiting my brother in Florida. Misty (her dog that we've had since JANUARY) is going to the poodle parlor Tuesday. I'm thinking we'll keep Misty until after her poodle parlor appointment. I hope to go over and steam clean Mama's floors and do some in-depth cleaning. Nothing is nasty nasty, it's just stuff like dusting and organizing that needs done. Last time I did anything "in-depth," I waited over two weeks for a comment. Then I finally asked how she liked her clean house and got, "Oh, you CLEANED!?!? I didn't notice." Gee that made me feel all warm and fuzzy- NOT. Emily, if you read, I'm holding off calling that contact on the house stuff until after Randy recovers some. I don't know what kind of impact all of that will have (it's next Friday) and I feel weird calling your cuz just to say, "I'm gonna wait a little bit." He probably thinks I'm a tard by now anyways.
